Dr. Adina uses evidence-based approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, interpersonal therapy, positive behavior parenting, and contingency management to effectively help clients achieve meaningful changes in their lives. She primarily treats adolescents and adults for emotional, developmental, and behavioral related issues. These include self-esteem, depression, emotional regulation, anxiety, grief, behavior disorders, social skills deficits, adjustment and relationship difficulties, divorce, and parenting issues. In treating teenagers, Dr. Adina works closely with their families, schools, and other professionals to effectively coordinate treatment.
Individual, Couples, and Family Therapy
Besides individual and family therapy, Dr. Adina also conducts couples therapy. She utilizes principles from the Gottman Method, an integrated research-based intervention, designed to help couples strengthen their relationships in the areas of friendship, conflict management, and creation of shared meaning.
Psychological Evaluations
Dr. Adina conducts psychological evaluations to measure cognitive abilities, learning disabilities, and personality for children and adults. Reports of IQ evaluations for the gifted program and learning disability evaluations are in compliance with the School Board requirements.
Dr. Adina is a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and she provides psychological evaluations/pre-surgical psychological clearance of candidates for bariatric surgery.
